Fundraisers

LGBC sponsors various fund-raisers throughout the year to assist families in funding the cost of their gymnast’s competition expenses. Last year, the LGBC fundraising events were so successful that the executive board has decided to help offset a number of costs that most of the competitive gymnasts will incur, including the USAG fee and partial payment for the competition uniform. Thank you to all who assisted in the fund raising events. We hope this year is even better!

Cookie Dough Fundraiser
LGBC’s last big fundraiser for the season is be the Cookie Dough Sales by
Varsity Gold Inc. Sale dates: October 3 – October 18. This fundraiser is to offset the fees that would be incurred by the parents to pay the coaches expenses for the meets.

Grocery Cards
LGBC sells Hy-Vee and Dillon's grocery certificates. LGBC earns approximately 5 percent dollar for dollar. So if you buy $100, LGBC earns $5.

Home meets
LGBC makes money when we host meets at the gym. We make money from concessions and a portion of the admissions. This year we will host a Winter Cup and a couple of league (nonsanctioned) meets. All parents are required to work a shift at one or both of these events.

Complete the Winter Cup Volunteer form to volunteer for a committee and work the floor for the LGA Winter Cup meet held on December 7-9. Please complete the form and return to Genny Salvatore’s mailbox by October 1. Every parent is required to work at least one work session (minimum 4 hours) for the Winter Cup or Boys League Championship Meet to be held on February 29 – March 2. Those parents who volunteered to work at the KU games have fulfilled their volunteer work session.

LGBC Sponsorship
Companies pay a fee and LGA displays the banner which advertises the company in the gym. This generates great publicity for companies because LGA has 90 athletes and around 400 recreational students, plus they are host to preschool programs, birthday parties, and other special events which bring people to the gym. That's a lot of exposure for the company. Go to LGBC Sponsorship for more information.

Cartwheel-a-thon
Gymnasts collect pledges and then perform cartwheels on a spring day to raise money. The athletes absolutely love this event! Go to spring cartwheel fundraiser results for last year's cartwheel fundraiser results.

Garage Sale
This year, LGBC held a garage sale September 22. We made $703.78! Thank you to all who participated!

Volunteering
Success for LGBC means reduced costs for you as your children participate in gymnastics. However, we cannot be successful without your help. Please contact Peggy Leslie by e-mail at president@lgbconline.org to volunteer.
